Bheja Fry 2 - Mostly irritating, a bit enjoyable

Cast::- KK Menon, Vinay Pathak, Minisha Lamba
Director:- Sagar Ballary
Running Length:- 2 Hours approx

This Friday, I and my friend Chiranjit thought about watching X-men First class by checking the timings on thursday but when we reach multiplex we came to know movie has been removed and now they are showing bheja fry 2. I was not that much interested in watching Vinay Pathak's movie after watching promos those dont seem to be too much promising. However we were left with no much options so we decided to take a risk.

It was indeed a big risk. I have not watched Bheja Fry movie apart from some scenes at my friend Ashwani's room 4 years back. That movie also was not a very humorous one and as it used to happen with a sequel of average hit movie, more efforts are made to make people laugh but in the end irritating them. Same happened with this movie.

Bharat Bhushan is an IT inspector taking part in a game show like Dus ka Dum. It has been decided that he will win the show by the producers which happens usually with these reality shows. KK is a businessman who is owner of fake companies and always keep eyes on women except his wife. He is trying to save himself from IT raid and thus arrest by a honest IT officer (Suresh Menon) and considers Vinay pathak as that inspector. KK decides to throw bhushan into the water from a cruise ship on which he has been invited as a winner of the show but due to some mishaps both are thrown into water and reach an island.

Island part begins after interval. There are lots of characters in the movie. Some are half baked and left as the story moves. Aditi govitrikar(Wife of channel owner), kishwar(secretart of KK), Wife of KK and even minisha lamba are just treated as eye candies mainly for KK. Music is absent in the movie apart from continous singing by Bhushan which is more of irritation than enjoyable.

KK is tense in the movie with one annoying expression. Before interval he is tense about getting rid of island and after interval he just want to get rid of Island and the audience like me wanted to get rid of both bhushan and movie. Vinay pathak reprised the role of always singing person who looks like an idiot to the outer world. This time they stretch the character to the limit of irritation I believe. He always speaking loud and behaving like a deaf person who used to speak a tone louder. I was feeling like theater should put the volume a bit lower for him specially if possible.

His singing irritated us atleast equal if not more than it was irritating for KK. I must say Bhushan has been shown a lovable person with a good nature and you may adore him at some point if you are patient enough to stay in the movie till the completion. Amole Gupte tried hard to make his character humorous but as it seems to be trend of this movie, he was mostly loud and you must have a very good humour sense to laugh on his scenes.

Suresh Menon as a south indian IT inspector and friend of Vinay Pathak also tried hard to make the scenes funny. There are some scenes with Vinay pathak in which they fight over north india-south india but hardly any scene genrate laughter apart from last line on cruise ship in the rest room. Some scenes are funny and most of humour comes from KK's irritation rather than Vinay pathak's dialogues. First half is quite boring, second half is bit stretched but better than first one where only 2 characters KK and Vinay pathak are there and you need to concentrate on them only. Some scenes are un necessary but that is the case with the most of the film.

You can watch this movie in theater if you really need to see any movie as it seems to be better affair than any other released this week. Other wise just wait for the TV release that will not be very far away.

Please put suggestion if any.
